The Red Dot Design Award is sponsored by The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (Nordrhein Westfalen Design Center), holding this annual award event since 1955. The Red Dot has been seen as one of the largest and the most authoritative design awards in the world. With three categories of Product Design, Design Concept, and Communication Design, nearly record-breaking 5,200 items were entered from 57 countries in 2016.
